Visit birding locations in Cimarron Canyon State Park and Maxwell National Wildlife Refuge. A full day of unbelievable sightings of our fine feathered friends. Native birds & migratory species. Binoculars are provided. Bring a hat, jacket and sturdy shoes. We stop around noon in Cimarron Canyon for a picnic lunch. Your guide will help each birder fill out a checklist on the bird sightings for the day. Return by 5 pm.
The months of June and July in the mountains of Northern New Mexico offer the best bird watching in the state. Following California and Arizona, New Mexico is known for its large number of migrating species. Along with the yearly resident birds, we have alot of birds nesting here in the wilderness and forests surrounding the Enchanted Circle to the Colorado state line.
Some of the wild birds that you might see and hear: Eagles, Hawks, Wild Turkeys, Woodpeckers, American Dipper, Chickadees, Nuthatches, Jays, Grosbeaks, Flycatchers, Towhees, Warblers, Swallows, Waterfowl & Shorebirds and many more.

THE BLUE JAY LODGE near Angel Fire, New Mexico is located in a beautiful mountain valley overlooking a pond. The Vietnam Veterans Memorial is nearby. There is an abundance of Wild Birds, Elk and Bear. The outside decks and barbecue grill are ready for your enjoyment.
