A FUN FILLED WEEKEND JUST FOR WOMEN LED BY THE PRESIDENT OF WILD RIVER TOURS - MARY JO KELLY! We meet in Taos, NM on Friday morning & travel to the Blue Jay Lodge in Angel Fire where we will stay during our Adventure Weekend. Friday afternoon begins our adventure when we tour Angel Fire to see the sights. Saturday is filled with activities. The Taos Historical Tour will fill the day. A morning visit to Taos Pueblo then the Taos Plaza with restaurants, art galleries and museums too. Back at the lodge we will take a break before getting ready to go out for the evening. Saturday evening we will drive to the Honkey Tonk Saloon in Red River for a night of Western music & dancing. Sunday morning is bird-watching near Eagle Nest Lake with a lovely picnic lakeside. For the afternoon adventure you may choose a pontoon- boat ride on the lake or horseback riding. By Sunday evening we will be relaxing. Departure is Monday by noon. Break- fast & picnic lunch is inclusive each day. You will be welcome to cook meals in the lodge or dine-out. You will need to bring jeans & t-shirts, long-sleeved shirts, boots, hat & jacket, sunglasses, sunscreen & personal items. Albuquerque or Colorado Springs are the nearest airports. Amtrack has service to Raton, NM. Faust Transportation has shuttle service to Taos from the Albuquerque airport. Taos is approximately 3 hours north of Albuquerque.

Bring a friend, a sister, your mother or daughter, group or club for great adventure in the Enchanted Circle of Northern New Mexico. We promise you will burn lots of calories and have an experience of a lifetime. Group size is limited to 8. The lodge is large enough to accommodate all. Costs run at $575 per person, group rates apply. 6.3% state tax is extra. We strive for a minimum of 5 women.
Wild River Tours offers guide service to two sites per day for a full day of intensive painting in the medium of your choice. We know all the sites in Taos and can take you to colorful churches, ruins and scenic vistas. Our Suburban has plenty of room for your supplies. We can do a full day trip or up to 5 days and six nights with accomidations at the Blue Jay Lodge. ABOUT US: Jim & Mary Jo Kelly had an idea to start a tour business in 1999. We named it Wild River Tours of New Mexico because of the location of our farm near the Wild Rivers Rec. Area. Jim is from Albuquerque. He is an avid outdoorsman and loves to snowshoe & look for wildlife. He is a contractor and builds fine homes in Angel Fire & Eagle Nest. Mary Jo has been a ski-instuctor for 18 years. She loves to ride her horses and do beadwork. Mary Jo is the chief guide and she is the promoter behind Wild River Tours. We love the outdoors & the wildlife in New Mexico.
Welcome to the BLUE JAY LODGE
The BLUE JAY LODGE near Angel Fire, New Mexico was established in 2001. This is a large lodge which sleeps from 4 to 12 persons. Two queen beds, a full bed, a bunk bed, a single bed and two pull out couches are available along with a full kitchen, laundry and 3 baths. The lodge is located 4 miles from the Angel Fire ski slopes and near the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. The setting is very scenic, overlooking a pond and surrounded by Ponderosa Pine trees. The quiet location is great for wildlife viewing, birds through out the year and Elk herds during the winter months. The lodge rents for $300 per night with a 3 night minimum. The Blue Jay Lodge is ideal for families, church groups, fall hunting groups and Angel Fire skiers.
